Abstract : Acanthosentis assamensis n. sp. from the intestine of the fresh water fish Puntius chola (Ham-Buch) and P. sophore (Ham-Buch) has been described and compared with the other known species of the genus Acanthosentis Verma et Datta, 1929. The authors have reason to consider the acanthocephata to be new.
