Abstract– Different varieties of species of prawns/ shrimps that belong to the Penaeidae/ Decapoda family are being surveyed (from August 2019- December 2020) at both lentic and lotic habitat of East Singhbhum, Jharkhand. A total number of four varieties are found in this region. Due to its market value and high demand in the sea food business local people, vendors and fisherman are taking interest in it and started fishing and cultivating it in rivers as well as ponds. This type of cultivation developed to uplift the economic value and growth of people and develop the state in many ways.
