AbstractAndrographis paniculata is locally known as Kalmegh or Chiraita. It is a member of family Acanthaceae. Andrographis paniculata is very useful for the diabetic patients in tribal locality of Deoghar and Banka district. The stems and leaves of this plant are dipped in drinking water in the night and taken in empty in the morning. Biochemical analysis of this medicinal plant has been discussed in the text in detail.
