Abstract :The present study deals with the effect of an organo- chlorine pesticide, Merit Alpha on the muscle protein of an air breathing fish, Heteropneustese fossilis (Bloch). The fish exposed to the pesticide sub-lethally and lethally showed a wide variation in muscle protein as compared to the normal, thus showing its toxic nature.
