 Abstract : Findings of histochemical studies of malpighian tubules of Aeschna— a terrestrial Odonate by PAS and Van-Kossa methods have revealed the presence of abundance of cellular glucose by the positive reaction of the former and absence of carbonates & phosphates by the negative reaction of the latter tests. Their metabolic significance in relation to the active flying habit has been discussed in the present communication.
