Abstract– Mecardonia Ruiz. & Pav. belong to family Plantaginaceae is reported here as a new addition to the Flora of Allahabad district Uttar Pradesh. It is collected from Prayagraj district of Uttar Pradesh and identified as Mecardonia procumbens (Mill.) Small. Taxonomic description of the species is provided with up-to date citation, phenology, ecology, and photograph for easy identification.
