Effect of physico-chemical parameters on the metazoan parasite population of fishes from Poonch river of J&K state

ABSTRACT : The abundance of Metazoan parasites population in relation to several physico-chemical factors was investigated from Poonch River. Based upon topographical features of the area, two sampling sites were selected for collection of fish hosts and water samples. The metazoan parasite population showed seasonal variation in relation to physico-chemical parameters of water and all parameters had a combined effect on the occurrence and population structure of the metazoan parasites.
