Abstract: In order to elucidate the phylogenetic relationship between D. punjabiensis and D. watanabei, two closely related species of montium subgroup, sexual isolation operating at the level of preferential mating was studied. The present finding indicated that gene flow occurs only in one direction. On the basis of results, the evolutionary sequence discussed.
