Studies on physicho-chemical parameters of ground water used for drinking in Araria district of North Bihar, India

Abstract– Regular checkup is a mechanism to keep the drinking water safe from chemical contaminants. The present research work has been conducted in Araria district of Bihar for physico chemical analysis. The water sample was collected from Hand pump, Tube well, Well, Pond and River generally used for drinking purpose. The parameters includes pH, total alkalinity, fluoride, chloride, total dissolved solids, dissolve carbon dioxide, biological oxygen demand, chemical oxygen demand, iron and arsenic concentration. It has been found that all the parameters are within permissible range for drinking purposes.
