Survey of syrphid fauna around Indo-Nepal border of Champaran district

Abstract : All together six species have been described. These are Malanostoma orientale, Syrphus balteatus, Syrphus confractor, Sphaerophoria indiana, Lasopticus latimaculatus and Platychirus manicatus. These are collected from different vegetations of West Champaran District and also reported and described for the first time from this area. Malanostoma orientale, wied were very few in number, Syrphus balteatus de was found plenty, Syrphus confractor, wield were represented by only two, Sphaerophorea indiana with fifteen specimens common in this area.
