Abstract : The present study was to evaluate Lebaycid impact in gill of air-breathing fish Channa Striatus. On exposure of sub-lethal concentration of Lebaycid (an organophorus). It is a compound of the composition of (Fenthion Xylen,Nonylphonol ether). The histopathological preparation of the tissues of vital organs like ,gills of the specimens, exposed to sub-lethal concentration of Lebaycid showed significant level of occurrence of lesion .No histopathological effects were observed in control group . It was commonly marked that the extent of impairment of tissues increased with the duration of exposure, time. In the case of gills after 4 to 8 days of exposure , the effect were limited to occurrence of uneven swelling in some positions of epithelial lining of the primary gill-lamellae , and some signs of hemorrhage in Channa Striatua after exposure of 4.5 PPM in Lebaycid media .Inflammatory condition of the epithelia cells of secondary lamellae , giving look of bulge or interlammlar bridge formation was also visible .Thus an impression was drawn that hyperplasia like condition was in appearance. However ,in some gill lamellae of Lebaycid exposed there was sign of atrophy ,disintegration of the epithelial cells and nevertheless, separation or lifting away of the segment of the lamellar epithelia was also visible
