Abstract : A study was conducted to find of pollution load in industrial effluent and ground water of M.I.D.C. Area Nagpur. The samples of seven different industrial units have been analyzed for various physicochemical parameters. The samples of ground water from two tube wells and one well were chosen in this study. The pH of the samples of industrial effluent ranges from 5.80 to 8.65, temperature from 20 to 36.2oC, E.C. from 660.2 to 4301 ?mho/cm, TDS from 280.7 to 2207 ppm and COD in range from 55 to 160 mgL-1. In Ground water samples shows pH values ranges from 6.70 to 7.70, temperature from 25.2 to 26.6 oC, E.C. from 300 to 425 ?mho/cm, TDS from 140 to 340 ppm and COD in range from 0.095 to 0.204 mgL-1. The results of physicochemical parameters indicate that the water samples are unsuitable for drinking water as it shows above the standard  limit for as recorded  in international WHO standards for drinking water. However the results of ground water indicate the limit of physicochemical parameters are within standards, with the suitability for drinking purpose.
