Abstract : A study was done to get information on algal biodiversity and the pollution indicating forms in a lake in Jharkhand. Of the 96 taxa of algae identified, 56 belonged to Cyanophyta, 18 to Chlorophyta, 3 to Charophyta and 19 to Bacillariophyta. Many of the taxa were pollution indicating. This shows that this particular lake is in need of biomonitoring.
