Seasonal variations in the hemoglobin percentage of human population residing in Katras-Dhanbad coalfield area

Abstract: Blood of animals in general and humans in particular is a very dynamic fluid tissue showing immense fluctuation in its qualitative and quantitative parameters. Air pollution is one of the important variables causing such seasonal fluctuation in peripheral blood parameters. The paper deals with the effect of air pollution causing seasonal variations in the Hb% of more than 400 human subjects of the polluted area of Katras-Dhanbad coalfield. The data has been converted into normal and below normal males and females to depict the population health.
