A new acanthocephalan parasite of the genus Acanthocephalus Koelreuthjer, 1771 from intestine of Heteropneustes fossilis (Bloch) from Awangsoi Lake, Bishnupur, Manipur

Abstract : A new species Acanthocephalus heteropneustii n.sp. has been described from the intestine of Heteropneustes fossilis (Bloch) from Awangsoi Lake, Manipur. The authors have reasons to consider the acanthocephalan to be new. The acanthocephala falls under the family Echinorhynchideae vide Yamaguti (1963)¹²
