Abstract : Seed can be considered as the starting organ in the life of a higher plant. Its germination involves complex range of biological, physiological, ecological and morphological events, which is seen in ecological context. The pH of soil and water affects the seed germination. Therefore a choice of correct condition of pH for seed germination is widely called for. The present paper deals with the effect of pH on seed germination of Celosia cristata L. & Celosia argentia L.
