Abstract : This paper deals with the autecology of the hover fly, Allograpta obliqua, which feeds on a variety of floral species. The larval food plants of this fly are Citrus limon and tender leaves of Lobularia maritime. Total life span from egg to adult of Allograpta obliqua varies in different seasons. It takes approximately three to four weeks in summer while, approximately nine weeks in winter. When larvae are found in high density they may result in defoliation of plants and reduction of aphids growth.
