Abstract : The present paper deals with exploration of aquatic angiosperms of an Ox-bow lake Dah-Reoti (Ballia) of Eastern Uttar Pradesh. About 42 species of aquatic angiosperms (macrophytes) belonging to 23 families were found present. Hydroracharitaceae and Cyperaceae families were observed dominant with the presence of four species in each family. Eichhornia crassipes was found to cover the considerable area of the lake. It was observed that encroachment of lake water by Eichhornia crassipes and other macrophytes confront the lake fishery hence, it must be controlled mechanically or biologically to improve fishery of the lake.
