Abstract: S. viviparus  was discovered by Ali, 1956 from Mystus micropthalamus whereas S. gomtii was described by Sood, 1967 from E.vacha. The authors have candidly assessed various aspects of morphological parameters of the two worms and have reasons to consider them as synonymy.
