Abstract : A study was conducted to assess the effect of pesticides on the height of plants and number of fruits in Capsicum annuum L. varitey Pusa Jwala (Chilli). Those pesticides were Malathion and Carbaryl. Different concentration of both pesticides were prepared separately which were 0.25 %, 0.50 %, 0.75 %, 1.00 % and 1.25 % etc. These pesticides were administered at seed level. Dry healthy seeds of Pusa Jwala variety of Capsicum annuum L. were subjected to different concentration of Malathion and Carbaryl separately. All the treated seeds were grown along with control plants. Dose dependent results were observed. Higher doses were harmful for this crops in both cases of pesticides. The data collected from this research work revealed that Carbaryl caused more damaging effect on height of plant and number of fruits than Malathion.
