Studies on the changes in behaviour and opercular beat in CARTRIZ treated, Channa punctatus (Bloch)

 Abstract : The present study deals with the changes in opercular beat, behaviour and physico-chemical characteristics of toxic media after LC₅₀ Cartriz intoxicated fish, Channa punctatus (Bloch). Opercular beat in treated fish initially recorded as 59 per minute within one hour, showing decline to 35/min. within 96 hrs. The fish also showed abnormal behaviour, finally death occured. The physico-chemical factors of the toxic media were also changed. Necessary cautions are advised to save the fish wealth.
